Christina joined the Corewell Health family OakMed division in 2024 and is the newest member of our Hospital Liaison Team. Christina is a Registered Nurse with a background in ICU, Dialysis, Wound Care, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and specializes in patients with chronic conditions and multiple commodities. As a Hospital Liaison, she assists patients who have been in Auto Accidents or Workers Comp accidents to navigate through the discharge planning process and transition back home. She works closely with the insurance companies and adjusters to establish a solid post-discharge plan and understands that her patients are more than the sum of their individual injuries. Whether she is working with our Return-to-Work Program for her Workers-Comp patients or partnering with Auto Adjusters or external case managers, she takes a holistic approach toward the patients' individualized recovery plan to ensure her patients’ needs and goals are met.

A message from Christina - In December 2022, my brother was hit by a drunk driver and at the time of his discharge was not working with an External Case Manager or Hospital Liaison. He broke every bone from his hips to his toes and was on life support for over a week. His discharge was riddled with so many missing pieces and even his basic needs were not met when he transitioned home. I saw the impact that those missing pieces had, not only on him and his recovery but also on our family as we scrambled to help him, and this is the reason I became a hospital liaison. Whether it's billing, understanding the auto laws, knowing what resources are available or even asking the tough questions, it is my goal to ensure that my patients' discharges will not be riddled with missing pieces and that they have everything in place for a safe recovery.
